Tin Soldier is born!
(Diskordian change their name)
The music remains the same, only the name has changed...
After nearly 11 years of Diskordian, the band have decided to change their name! Our name for the last decade was dreamt up by
Nic Rutherford (see Meet the Band if you weren't lucky enough to know us when he was the bassist!)
and was based on a spoof religion, known as 'Discordian'. We changed the spelling and the rest is history...
However, some of us were never that happy with the name and, after advise from several music bigwigs (who thought we were a heavy
metal band), we decided that a change of name might be the way forward.
So, as of April 2009, we will be known as Tin Soldier . The name is taken from the title of our second album
and will hopefully help to promote us in a more positive light.
We're likely to stick with Diskordian for local gigs as we've built a bit of a name for ourselves but, whenever we play in London or other places further afield we'll be known as Tin Soldier .
So, we apologise for any confusion caused but promise the music will go on!

As well as regular full band gigs, we are continuing to perform at the ever popular acoustic open mic night at The Bull in
Barton-Le-Clay, Beds.
It's the first and last Thursday of every month and features some amazing local talent playing to a chilled out and friendly crowd.
We will be there at least once a month (check out the Live page for details) so please come along and join in the fun!
